L'album "Bad" fait son apparition dans les bacs le 1er septembre 1987.

La pression est énorme pour Michael vu le fabuleux succès de l'album précédent. Il s'entoure une nouvelle fois de Quincy Jones. Une soixantaine de chansons seront retenues pour cet album pour n'en rester au final que 11. Michael a écrit et composé 9 chansons sur les 11.
